Save. Connect. Invest.
We are on a quest to help you save and invest either on your own or by connecting with your family or friends. Growing and enhancing your financial knowledge and wellbeing will make a real difference to you, your family and your community.
Kia ora and Talofa lava,
I’m Ruth, founder of KokoTālā and the daughter of Samoan immigrants who settled here in Aotearoa in the 1950s. My parent’s hopes for a better life for themselves and their families has led us to our purpose today.
The Tālā app will give you the opportunity to take control of your finances so that you can plan for a brighter future. Tālā is the platform for you, your family and your friends to share and chat about your financial progress, stories and tips with each other from anywhere in the world.
“O le tele o sulu e maua ai se fagota, e mama se avega pe a ta amo fa’atasi.”
My strength does not come from me alone, but from many.
– Samoan proverb
Kia ora and Hello!
I’m Nandini, I’m responsible for technology at KokoTālā. I first arrived in Aotearoa New Zealand in 1994 – an immigrant with a suitcase full of dreams. I saw how important it was to save, how important it was to connect with my new village and share my journey.
Many of my dreams have come true, and I am so excited now to be able to help you save and share your story, your journey, through the Tālā app.
I believe that people should drive technology, not the other way round. Technology is but a tool to help us achieve our limitless potential.
KokoTālā is on a mission to change people’s spending habits and normalise financial behaviour such as budgeting, saving, spending, investing and talking about money either as an individual, family or tribe through this free technology solution.
About the Pineapple: Fresh, tropical and resilient, the pineapple is not a single fruit, but a group of berries fused together like our families, friends and the communities that we live in. Our ancient Polynesian wayfinders used them as a source of food to navigate thousands of miles across the open Pacific Ocean.
Managing your finances is a journey. Tālā helps you start those conversations in the home about money and saving, and sharing your knowledge with others to produce lasting results for you, your family and even your village.
